Tempting Tables

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll know I’m a huge fan of sweet tables. Dessert and design are a perfect combination and I always get so excited seeing what a creative baker has come up with. So when Tempting Cake left a comment on my I ♥ dessert tables post I had to check them out. And I loved what I saw!

Based in South West London, Tempting Cake have shared four of the dessert table designs they’ve come up with but they are happy to customise sweets and styling to your event so you can have something that suits your soiree and looks as amazing as these…

One cool wedding car…

…amongst other ace wedding details! Today I have the pleasure of sharing a few photos from a wedding that Jennifer of Jennifer Sue Weddings created (thanks Jen!) As well as the amazing wedding transport, I love the romantic atmosphere Jen created in the garden where Dannielle & Ian shared their vows. Those ribbons blowing in the breeze are so beautiful…

After many years together and two beautiful children, Dannielle and Ian decided it was time to tie the knot. They opted for a humanist ceremony to go with the relaxed feel of the day. Using the lovely gardens of the Rose and Crown Country Hotel in Buckinghamshire, we opted for a simple vintage white feel for the ceremony to give it elegance and grace. I commandeered the groomsmen to climb the central tree in the garden to hang a dozen white lanterns, as this was to be the focal point of the ceremony. We hired in wooden chairs and created an aisle of petals. I decorated the orchard with reels of ribbons, lace bunting and painted wooden hearts. I then made a wishing tree, hung with luggage tags for guests to write messages on; this made a pretty backdrop for the wedding party photos.

In contrast to the serene white decor of the gardens, we went for fun brights inside the marquee. Whilst the wedding party were enjoying their meal I was turning the garden into a colour-fest, with the bride’s found pots and vases filled with bright flowers and plants that we had prepared earlier. These were set upon bright pink runners with candles on each table.

As a surprise for the children, Dannielle had arranged for a bouncy castle and a sweet table to be brought in to keep them happy. For the latter, I used ribbon-bound kitchen jars and antique cake stands to hold the sweets and cakes. The children were squealing with delight as they scooped up their confectioneries into stripey pink paper bags.

The weather was perfect and later on in the day one of the groomsmen proposed to a very shocked bridesmaid. She said yes!

Inspiration board : Candy striped

I’m rather fond of red and white stripes. Reminiscent of carnivals these stripes scream fun! And they look really contemporary too. So here’s an inspiration board for you and there’s no need for me to give you lots of ideas with this one as it’s simple… red & white & stripes!

Brilliant white

When I saw this shop design all I could think was… incredibly stunning wedding! I’m a strong believer that you can find inspiration anywhere and don’t need to look solely to other weddings to source ideas for your big day. And so that is why today I am showing you this strikingly styled Theurel & Thomas pâtisserie created by Anagrama.

To really draw the attention to the macarons sold in this pâtisserie the designers opted for a pure white colour scheme. It is incredibly beautiful and the carefully selected porcelain pieces add to the elegance. The colours of the macarons really pop out against the single colour scheme. Can you imagine a wedding that looked like this? It would be amazing!

Of course, when everything’s white, which element you choose to stand out is entirely up to you…

Pale and interesting

If, like me, you’re one for drooling over glossy magazines where everything looks immaculate and beautiful and quite frankly unachievable then today I have a wedding venue for you…

Pale and Interesting is a gorgeous online boutique store set up by husband and wife team, Atlanta Bartlett and Dave Coote. The link I’ve just given you should really come with a warning as you may well want to spend a small fortune after clicking it; so many beautiful things!

Atlanta and Dave have both worked in the magazine, photography and design industries for the last 20 years, they have an impeccable eye for design and styling and their client list ranges from Laura Ashley, John Lewis and Habitat to Elle Deco, Living etc and Red magazine.

Pale-&-Interesting

Through the store they have made their style accessible to all and now they can bring their fashionable flair to your wedding too!

The venue

Their stunning wedding venue is in the style of an American New England barn and is nestled in the heart of the Romney Marsh, surrounded by open countryside, on the Kent/East Sussex borders. There is a fully licensed venue that can seat up to 70 guests for the ceremony with ample space in the 3 acre grounds for a marquee of up to 200. Even just images of the outside are enough to make me fall a little in love…

Pale-&-Interesting

As for the inside… I think this is easily a case of images speaking louder than words…

Pale-&-Interesting

For those that would prefer a church wedding, there’s gorgeous options for you there too with Romney Marsh’s ancient churches, including the secluded and romantic 16th century Fairfield Church, which in my opinion is one of the prettiest churches I’ve laid my peepers on…

Pale-&-Interesting

A bedroom fit for a bride

There are countless wedding suppliers in the area that Atlanta & Dave can put you in touch with, including hotels and B&Bs for your guests to have a good night’s sleep after all the celebrating! The married couple won’t have to trek into town though as there is a beautiful bridal suite: a romantic rustic cabin that has had the amazing Pale & Interesting treatment.

Pale-&-Interesting

The Pale & Interesting venue has graced the pages of magazines and catalogues from House & Garden, Living etc. and Homes & Gardens to The White Company and Cath Kidston. And, just to ensure your wedding day looks like it belongs in those glossy magazines you covet, Atlanta & Dave are on hand for full wedding styling if required! Your wedding details could be as beautiful as in the images below…

Pale-&-Interesting

After you’ve stopped drooling over all those pretty pictures you should go and check out the individual websites of Atlanta and Dave for even more inspirational images!
