Vintage treasures

One of the biggest trends I’m seeing in wedding-world is to go vintage. Not only are vintage-inspired weddings beautiful but if you search car boot sales, flea markets and the internet for actual vintage pieces then you can’t fail to have a unique wedding with a load of character.

Gorgeous vintage jewellery is the perfect accessory to your vintage wedding but often it’s not that easy to find the perfect piece. Luckily Lisa & Tania of Magpie Vintage have taken the hard work off your hands. They find original jewellery, rework it with silver to create exquisite one off designs and share all the pretty pieces between their online store and several beautiful boutiques.

As they are unique pieces the website is constantly being updated with new opulent offerings. Here’s a few of the creations on there right now:

Just so stunning! And don’t think you have to be doing the vintage thing for your wedding day in order to shop at Magpie Vintage; these jewels would look beautiful adorning any bride.

Lisa & Tania can also, amazingly, work their magic on your own treasures. If you have a sentimental piece of jewellery that you’d love to wear on your wedding day, they can work with it to create a unique and timeless heirloom. Perfect for passing on to future brides in your family.

Dogeared & delightful

Los Angeles company Dogeared (that, yep, ship to the UK) stock sweet and simple jewellery perfect for the bride and the wedding party. I’m a big fan of big chunky statement jewellery for a wedding day but I also think some wedding looks would be overpowered by this jewellery. Sometimes it makes sense to go with delicate pieces and that’s where a company such as Dogeared steps in.

Charmed

Their range of bridal charm pendants feature so many customisable options you can personalise it to suit you or as a thoughtful gift for your wedding party. There are all these charms…

Dogeared-charms

Choose between popping your chosen charm on a chain or a thread that matches the colour of your wedding, you can even pick the length! And finally pick the card you wish the pendant to be presented on, should it be titled ‘bridesmaid’ or ‘flowergirl’ or ‘big sister’… There’s even a ‘bridezilla’ for those wanting to buy a gift for a particularly picky bride! I love that you could buy these for all your maids but the charms can be individually picked for their character, always nice having that personal touch.

Pretty pearls

Along with charms there are pretty pearls of love, or, pearls of friendship if you prefer:

Bouquet glass

And I really love these charms you can attach to your bouquet, especially the gorgeous glass heart for your something blue:

Bridal mag bag

There’s loads more to see on this website but the post would be insanely long if I featured it all. Just one last thing though… for the bride that’s deep in planning her wedding you probably need one of these cute tote bags to lug all that wedding research around in:

I think that’s a good enough excuse to get one?!

Rockcandy

I’m always on the look out for something different and so was really excited to discover, Edinburgh-based, Rockcandy Gallery. Set up in 2006 by designers Danielle & Susanna, they have a contemporary collection of designer jewellery for those wanting to wear the unique.

Feast your eyes on some inspirational ideas for that important, wear-all-the-time, engagement ring:

Rockcandy Gallery cater for the men too:

Along with stunning wedding jewellery there’s lots of other fabulous pieces to see. My favourite range is the bright and bold range by Block:

Block jewellery

I love the colours, the mismatched earrings and the chunkiness. I actually think these would make fun, and affordable, bridesmaid gifts! In fact I can see no reason why a bride couldn’t be in jewellery this bright and contemporary!

As if this jewellery wasn’t amazing enough, most of the designers are willing to work on commission so you’ll be able to buy a piece that not only looks unique, it actually will be.

Lovely lace

A strapless white gown is a must for many brides when it comes to their wedding day. So how do you make your look stand out from the rest? One way is to add a statement piece of jewellery. Detroit-based sisters, Christina & Courtney, make the most gorgeous accessories from new and recycled materials and sell them through their Etsy store White Owl.

I am particularly in love with the lace creations accented with beads and antiqued chains:

Lovely lace necklaces

I am also in love with the distressed surfaces, vintage books, aged photos and postcards found in the imagery of their jewellery. Always awesome when sellers make a special effort with their product photography!

If earrings are your thing you’ll find some lovely lace pieces waiting at White Owl for you:

And they also make some amazing pieces without any lace in sight!

Items this beautiful I always assume will come with a hefty price tag but that’s not the case here. The lace necklaces range from only £20 to £24. And that’s including postage! So refreshing to know that adorning your neck with something stunning for your big day doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.
