For vintage seekers…

I’m not really a jewellery person. I love the odd accessory for a night out but, on a day-to-day basis, I never wear any jewellery; not even a watch, they just bug me. And I even wonder how I’ll cope with an engagement ring one day! But then I saw these…

Vintage-Seekers-Rings

I could so wear these! And gawp at them all day long…

The fact that they’re vintage and therefore one off pieces makes them even more appealing. You can find all these at the incredible online store Vintage Seekers: a brilliant website for fans of original 20th century design and collectibles. Some of them are a little pricey such as the top one being £6,800! But it’s French and it’s circa 1945 and it’s carved ruby… J’adore! :D

And dresses!

If you love vintage you must check out this store there’s everything from furniture to music to wine! But for the brides among you let me leave you with a few of the gorgeous gowns you could don on your big day…

I just love the dress bottom left; a 1960s fitted cocktail dress by American designer Richard Blackwell. It’s so cute!

Make a statement

I love it when a bride goes bold and wears a statement piece of jewellery with her dress. But for those a little more reserved (like me!) it can be a little scary making such a statement. Well, I think I have found the perfect in-between pieces; jewellery that is striking enough to stand out yet delicate enough for even the reserved to want to wear. Please feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful jewels made by Israel artist Alona:

Lonkoosh

All this and even more can be found in Alona’s Etsy shop Lonkoosh. Enjoy exploring!

Pretties from the past

Yesterday was gorgeous vintage-inspired gowns. Today I have gorgeous vintage accessories to show you. Many wedding businesses seem to start with a wedding day themselves and Jo Barnes’ business is one of them. Jo first created a stunning headpiece and bouquet, from her grandmother’s 1940s jewellery, for her own big day.

Sparkly & chic

After the event was over, Jo’s creating wasn’t and she liked the idea of helping other brides find the all important finishing touch to compliment their perfect gown. Jo now seeks out gorgeous vintage pieces, cleans and repairs them where necessary, and sells them on her website. And they would definitely make for a stunning finishing touch!

Vintage

Using her knowledge of vintage, Jo also creates new pieces that are inspired by the past and that look just as amazing as her original vintage finds:

Vintage-inspired

How you’d actually decide between all those jewels is beyond me, there’s several I’d like!

Prices of the current collection range between £120 and £265 and a piece this pretty can easily become an heirloom to be passed down through the family; I can’t imagine jewellery this classic ever losing its appeal.

Beaded bouquet

As well as the lovely lot above, Jo also creates bouquets and buttonholes that would perfectly fit your vintage theme:

Also amazing!

Jo’s aim is to make brides stand out from the rest and that’s why all her vintage pieces are one of a kind, so you know your wedding day will be unique. Make sure you head here and here on the fantastic wedding blog Love my Dress to check out Jo’s glamorous wedding and the inspiration behind her truly beautiful business!

Paper-cut prettiness

Finding your true soul mate isn’t, as I wrongly assumed when growing up, a given. It’s not easy and if it’s lucky enough to happen to you, well, it’s the stuff of fairy tales. These beautiful paper-cut creations of, San Francisco-based, Tina Tarnoff remind me of old-fashioned fairytales. And it’s for that very reason that I think the jewellery displaying these works of art would make a really sweet addition to any wedding outfit:

The girl on the swing reminds me of Alice in Wonderland and I just love the Peter Pan pendant. But the Autumn Kiss is my favourite. So sweet and romantic and a lovely find for your fairytale day.
