About me
I love weddings. I was the little girl that repeatedly drew how I’d look on my wedding day. The dress had a sweetheart neckline and a big meringue skirt and the groom always had a top hat. Back then I was convinced all dresses looked like that (and all grooms wore top hats). But now I know different (which I’m glad of as I’m definitely no longer the meringue type). Now, there seems to be an endless amount of dresses to suit every style, season and destination of wedding. And it’s not only the dresses where there is so much choice. The flowers, venues, cakes, shoes, jewellery etc. all offer opportunities to create a day that is uniquely you.
I’m not married and won’t be for some time I imagine as I’m single! But that doesn’t stop me drooling over the details of other people’s weddings. All weddings are beautiful as ultimately they’re about spending the rest of your life with the perfect partner but they can be oh so pretty too!
The things I have seen on my web travels have inspired me to create this blog. As a lover of design, art & craft I am definitely drawn towards a particular type of wedding. Ask me to choose between an extremely elaborate floral display or a jar of pretty paper peonies and it’s the paper that will pull me in. I can’t really explain the appeal. Perhaps it’s because it’s do-able and accessible to all, or perhaps because it’s handmade… to me a handmade product is one I associate with care and attention and love and this equates to what a wedding day should be.
With this blog I intend to showcase inspiration that involves incorporating art into your wedding day alongside stunning photography and beautiful love; that is, after all, the name of my blog!
Ultimately I hope to inspire a bride reading this blog to create a wedding that is less of the traditional, more of the original and most importantly entirely hers.
