Wedding decor : Beneath a glass dome

Put something under a glass dome and it appears to become much more beautiful. I don’t really know why. Perhaps it’s because the glass is protecting and preserving what’s inside. And something that needs that attention is generally special? Or because we associate things behind glass as items that should be admired but are to delicate to be touched? Either way, I love the look!

As a centrepiece for wedding tables they look incredible. And the best bit is you can tailor the inside to suit your style and your surroundings…

So what would you display under a glass dome at your wedding? I think I’d have to go with something similar to Patti Normand’s work; a sweet woodland type scene made up of railway miniatures – because I’m as fascinated with those as I am with glass domes! :)

I keep my antique copper kettle under my cake stand dome in my kitchen. I think it makes it look even more special :)
