Bridal Style : Whimsy & Hair

I made the decision that today was going to be a bridal style focused on hair. Lovely ideas for your luscious locks on your special day. But in my research I discovered Gardens of Whimsy. April makes beautiful hair accessories and what’s even more fantastic is that she models them hereself (how stunning is she?!) creating a hairstyle and a ‘look’ for each piece. So not only do these pictures, and many more in her shop, present to you pretty products to buy but there’s a big fat dose of hair inspiration right there for you too. Amazing!

I am wishing I was a redhead right about now.

Half Dozen Design

Lovely lady Natty contacted me earlier this year after she spotted my Snow White Sweet Table. She sent me images of some sweet tables she’d designed herself and told me how she’d love to turn her passion of baking and craft into a full time business, creating dessert tables for any occasion.

Last week I was delighted to receive another email from Natty with a link to her brand new, UK-based business Half Dozen Design! She’d managed to make it happen and now I really want to help her spread the word :)

With 6 children that have birthdays beginning in September and finishing in January, and Halloween and Christmas falling in between, Natty certainly has the skills to create parties under pressure and she definitely has an eye for design. Here’s just one of her delightful tables, fit for a country fair…

Yum! And you can see a lot more delicious design over on Natty’s new website right here. I’d love it if you could share the link to this post or the Half Dozen Design website please and do leave a comment if you like what you see. Support is ace! I wish you all the best Natty with your business and I’m so happy for you :)

A sweet side note

Speaking of sweet tables… The Sweet Table Contest is back! The countdown is on and we’re hoping this one is going to be even bigger and better than last year so if you have a blog and would love to help spread the word please get in touch for the details. And those that are hoping to enter… watch this space!

Ruffled and romantic

Romantic ruffles are a wedding trend I love. There are so many ways to introduce them into your wedding: ruffled dresses for the bride and/or bridesmaids, ruffled accessories, ruffled ribbons draped around the ceremony and reception or perhaps a ruffled cake. Any colour will work with ruffles but I’ve picked pretty, pink pictures today. And rather than just show you some lovely pictures… here’s where you can learn how to make the crepe paper streamers, here’s how to ice a ruffled cake and here’s how to make your very own ruffled necklace! I’m so good to you ;)

Fall romantics…

… is the wonderfully apt name of the latest range of gorgeous headpieces by Mignonne (apart from the first one, that’s from last year but I liked the leaves). If you’ve been reading the blog for a while now you’ll know that, along with my love of pretty things, I’m a sucker for beautiful photography. Product photography when done well makes me so happy because it shows off the piece to the extent it deserves and makes my blog look lovely ;)

And Mignonne have perfected the art of pretty product photography. Of course you still need the product to be good and Jenn’s creations don’t disappoint there. These flowers and feathers in pretty pastel shades would definitely look divine on a fall bride… and I’d even be tempted to steal the photo idea for a cute photo booth backdrop too ;)

And this is just the Fall Romantics collection. There are loads more in the shop so go have a look :)

Bridal style : Summer Princess

There are three reasons why I wanted to share these stunning images with you. One, I love Alex Beadon and everything she creates. Any images of hers that I feel fit with the blog I will want to share :) Two, I love this look for a bride: simple floaty dress, flowers in the hair, natural-look make-up and a statement ring = amazing! And three, the weather has shifted in Toronto recently. More of the days are colder, windier and wetter and I fear we’re beginning to creep towards the long winter that everybody I’ve met here has warned me about! So I’m dreaming of summer days whilst it’s still possible. And these pictures, to me, are what a midsummer day’s dream looks like…
