This is the type of love story that wouldn’t be amiss in a movie… a couple see a photo of San Francisco City Hall and fall completely in love with its grand architecture and history. They live in China but this beautiful building speaks to their souls and it is the only place they can imagine witnessing their wedding day. And so, without friends or family, they hop on a plane with a 1940s wedding dress pattern, materials for the dress, a veil and a stylish suit. They fly to San Francisco; to their dream wedding destination. The night before the wedding the bride creates her dress, adding the most beautiful beading detail to the back. She gets two hours sleep.
And then the wedding day arrives and it is beautiful. The day is focused on the two of them, giggling and embracing and caught up in the excitement of such a special day. Only a photographer to capture the memories.
No details to distract from the overwhelming occasion that is two people in love becoming husband and wife.
And the stars of this love story… Shu & Lance.
I’m a fan of details but I’m also a fan of love and it is so beautifully documented here in the images by Kate Harrison. I love that their wedding was an adventure, only about them and their love for one another. And I love the image of the bride drinking out of the bottle!
Thank you to Kate for letting me show these stunning images and congratulations to Shu & Lance, I hope your married life is filled with many more adventures :)
