This dream wedding belongs to…

… Kat of Rock N’ Roll Bride!

I created this feature for two reasons: 1. for me to introduce you to bloggers you may not know about and 2. to find out what wedding bloggers, immersed in wedding inspiration, would pick for their dream day.

Number 1. does not really apply today because I’d be extremely surprised if anybody reading this had failed to hear about massively popular wedding blog Rock N’ Roll Bride! If by some tiny chance you haven’t then are you in for a treat! Kat’s been blogging for some years now and Rock N’ Roll Bride is easily the biggest wedding blog to come out of the UK.

Many brides and wedding industry experts worldwide know of Kat because her blog is so deliciously different. Kat loves a tattoed bride, a bride that doesn’t wear white on her wedding day, a bride that dares to be different. Most of all she loves a bride that stays true to what they want out of a wedding day and will not conform to society’s expectations. Thank goodness for people like Kat who, on a daily basis, prove that weddings can be anything you want them to be!

As for reason number 2… Kat’s happily married to Gareth, however, her wedding was almost three years ago now. Tastes are known to change and I was intrigued to see just how much of her wedding day she’d do differently.

Plus, she has excellent taste in men; I completely agree with her choice of alternative groom :p

Now, on to finding out a bit more about the blogger. Here’s Kat…

I was born as a blogger on the… 30th of October, 2007.

My very own favourite blog post to date was… How to have a perfectly imperfect wedding/life. This post had a great reaction from my readers!

A favourite wedding from the whole of the World Wide Web was… The Bowie Bride’s ‘Hitchfest’

If I could do it all again and money was no object I’d be wearing a short, vintage number.
My man would be in whatever he liked!
For my maids it would be dresses of their choosing in different colours.
It would be taking place on our anniversary (12th April).
And I’d arrive on a space ship.
The ceremony would be intimate, emotional and personal.
After the ceremony it’d be off to the reception in an empty space (like a warehouse) that we could decorate ourselves.
It would look kick ass
and guests would all feast on ice cream and marshmallows.
The cake would be epic.
After stuffing our faces me and the husband would have our first dance to All You Need Is Love (by the Beatles (again – this was our actual first dance).
The rest of the night would be spent drinking and dancing.
The best bit of the entire wedding would be see above.
And if I had to swap the groom for a celebrity it’d have to be for Kiefer Sutherland.

Hearts

I’m not just about blogging. Here are five things I like that are nothing to do with blogging or weddings…

  1. My maine coon kittens.
  2. Watching 24/The Vampire Diaries/True Blood.
  3. Vivienne Westwood. My idol in fashion and life!
  4. Shopping. Always.
  5. Date night.

And five things I dislike

  1. Clutter (we have a lot in our house!)
  2. Salmon (eugh).
  3. Big, scary dogs.
  4. Bland, boring and uninspiring people.
  5. Double denim.
