I have a gorgeous South African wedding to share with you today, courtesy of the lovely Lizelle Lotter. Sadly I don’t understand Afrikaans and so can’t translate some of the wedding details for you. Luckily, the beauty of weddings can transcend the language barrier and I really don’t think it matters that I don’t understand what is written on the aisle runner, I know it will be something lovely and I think it’s a unique idea!
I also love the dresses! The daring dress for the bride with its thigh-high split and those awesome bridesmaid dresses! Love the colour, the style and the tartan fabrics used! The wedding car is cute too with its big bow and of course I adore the light in this last shot…
Awesome images courtesy of Lizelle Lotter
Congrats to Johann & Zara and thanks to Lizelle for allowing me to share this amazing African wedding.

I love Lizelle’s work and this wedding is no exception!! Beautiful moments captured with so much love. My first language is actually Afrikaans Debs – love what the blackboard on the stand says: “I will write poetry about your mouth and your body. I will make up songs and sing it to you until you’re asleep”. So romantic! :-)
Thank you so much for the post! Love it!

Thanks Anneli for the translation :D Big fan of the amazing photography by Lizelle and the awesome style of this wedding :D Very happy you liked the post Zara :) x
Zara, how did you do a chalkboard aisle runner!?
So cool! The chalkboard aisle is brilliant.
Hi Amanda, It is black material and I wrote on it with white material paint. I wrote this on my knees, bum in the air :) Be sure to write it on a flat surface and remember to cover the surface used because the paint comes through the material. The text is 1 Corinthians 13… So happy that you like the idea! x
Shamazinggggg !!!!
Ladies,
you can buy blackboard on a roll (in the UK).. I’ve been researching it as I LOVE the idea, thank you Zara for sharing xx
Hi Zara,
Ek sien hierdie post is al `n bietjie oud, maar ek het gehoop dat jy dalk vir my kan se watse soort materiaal jy vir die aisle runner gebruik het? LOVE dit!!
