Weird and wonderful

In honour of Halloween I thought I’d do a little round up of weird and wonderful wedding ideas for those that choose to get married at this spooky time of year…

Friday the 13th festivities.

Utterly amazing dessert table!

A gothic gown.

Corpse bride cake and cute pumpkin cake.

Seemingly endless ideas courtesy of Martha.

Gorgeous gothic.

Night of the living wed!

Ouija stationery!

More chic than spooky.

I want to live in this house! But as well as that some amazing inspiration!

Happy Halloween!

Saturday screening & the baby blog

I’ve got a beautiful beach side wedding for today’s Saturday Screening, to remind us of warm sunny days as it gets all dark and dreary. The venue is impressive (how huge is that building?!), the stationery is perfectly pretty and a chair for a guestbook is certainly a unique idea!

And in other news…

…my new baby blog is very nearly ready!

Belle Bébés Banner

Belle Bébés is going to feature inspirational nurseries & children’s rooms, pretty parties and all manner of awesome goodies for your little one. I will make a bigger announcement on launch date but for now if there are any proud parents wanting to show off their child’s room or party, any photographers that shoot baby, child or family portraits, any vendors that have products perfect for children or anybody else with something they’d like featuring on the blog… please email me!

Have a great weekend people!

Sunsets & silhouettes

Alex Beadon is an inspiration. At only 21 this girl knows exactly what she wants to do and is already extremely good at it. When I came across the beautiful images of Amelia & Jonathan’s shoot I had to email her instantly to ask if I could feature them. When a photographer can beautifully capture a sunset and the gorgeous golden light at the end of the day it never fails to impress me (because I know how hard it is!) Photographers’ images of skies are my favourite. Add a totally loved up couple to the equation and it becomes breathtaking. I am so pleased I get to share these with you…

Beautiful right? Not only does she shoot fantastic images but she loves to share her passion for photography by helping others. Her blog has some great information for new-to-the-industry photographers and this past weekend saw her take part in a lunch and shoot swap that she organised! I’ve only known her a few days and already she’s had me thinking about my blog, my photography and what I want to achieve in life! Like I said, an inspiration. Alex thank you so much for letting me share your gorgeous photos, I’m really pleased to have ‘met’ you.

Bloom business

I’m a huge fan of craft. I’m a huge fan of affordable. And I’m a huge fan of finding the prettiest accessories for your wedding day. Because of this, Illinois-based Ink & Button is an example of an ideal vendor to me. There are lots of people handmaking accessories out there but some just stand out from the rest for one way or another. Lisa’s hair accessories certainly stand out.

Felt florals

Her business creating these gorgeous blooms stemmed from her own wedding. Lisa began playing around with felt and vintage buttons as she dreamt of creating unique bouquets for herself and her bridesmaids. Hours spent stitching leaves and petals (whilst watching Pride & Prejudice!) resulted in Lisa realising her dream. After the wedding she thought that other brides may want felt flowers for their wedding. And quite rightly too as they’re this gorgeous…

Ink-&-Button

I must buy one! They’re so sweet, so unique with their vintage buttons and Lisa is more than happy to take custom orders so make sure you look through her past sales for ideas. Not only will these look gorgeous for your wedding day but priced at £13 – £16 they’re a bridal bargain!

I love to show vendors like this on my blog as Lisa’s products are just as affordable as accessories from huge high-street accessory stores. But, as well as having the added incentive that they are unique, you’re supporting an individual crafter. And I’m all for that!

A felted affair

Of course, when I found out this business came about because of Lisa’s creative wedding I asked her if I could show that too. So here’s a last little set of blooming beautiful photos for you…

Matt & Katy : La Fiesta Grande!

For a lot of people a main focus of their wedding day is the party that comes after it. I will be one of those people. And for that reason I love this following wedding. Because photographers Matt & Katy’s reception was full of colour, full of dancing and even featured a piñata! Thanks to Ben Blood for letting me share photos of a wedding I wish I’d been at!

Matt-&-Katy

Although I love all the photos of the party and the details that went into it, my absolute favourite photos of this set are the ‘first look’ photos. Rather than a polite kiss or tender hug Katy has gone for a huge embracing hug, as if she never wants to let go, and that makes me smile: seeing how awesome love is. So soppy but so true!
