I love boutique hotels. Especially when they have different themes from rooms. And even more so when the rooms are Airstream trailers on the rooftop! I imagine this doesn’t happen in many places. But it does at The Granddaddy in Cape Town and that’s why I’ve completely fallen in love with it! It’s going down on the list of ideal honeymoon/holiday destinations.
Boutique beautiful
The Granddaddy is a beautiful hotel with an amazing reception area and beautifully designed Showroom Café (generally anywhere that has Ghost chairs gets the thumbs up from me)…
Daddy Cool
And if you want a bar with bling then the Daddy Cool bar, with its metallic walls and gold mosaic bar, will certainly suit you…
Superior & stylish
The rooms are super-stylish with lampshades and headboards boasting South African place names, bolster cushions decorated in African-themed designs, beautiful silver & black globes and marble bathrooms…
Sugar Daddy
There are also two Sugar Daddy Suites that come with lovely lounges, wooden-decked patios and beautiful bathrooms…
Trailers sans trash
But, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be way more excited by the penthouse trailer park. Seven iconic American Airstream trailers sit around a decked area that transforms itself into the Pink Flamingo outdoor cinema on a weekly basis. The cinema offers drinks and your choice of popcorn, toffee apples or candy floss. There’s also a rooftop bar for entertainment on non-cinema nights…
Creative Capetown
The trailers themselves are amazing. Each being designed by a different Capetonian artist and featuring loads of great details I think these would be perfect for an exciting home for your honeymoon…
